More Than A Friend

Ex-CPA turned World Traveler
Who says you can't meet a nice guy over cyberspace? I met John over the net February 2000, shortly before he took off on a year-long trip around Africa. We kept in touch by email during that year, and when he returned, our relationship developed into more than friends. I guess that was in the cards, since our first correspondence to each other (by chance) happened to fall on Valentine's Day.

John with his map of his travels through Africa. The black lines drawn on the map (yeah, I know they can't be seen here) show the routes he took.

From the late 1980's to 2002, he has traveled the non-tourist route through 73 countries, his main objective that of learning about the many diverse cultures by interacting with the people who he met along the way.

Say cheese!

At Shannon and Jeff's wedding. We thought it not fair that only the bride and groom got to do all the kissing!

I love you, John!

Boggle Champion Loses Undefeated Status
When I first met John, he taught me how to play Boggle, and since then, it has become one of our favorite indoor activities. I am the only person to date who has been able to beat him at the game (when playing two-player), and we remain fairly competitive when playing each other. We love the game because we love learning new words, and well heck, if it weren't for Boggle, I never would have learned the meanings of the words "slub" and "fug." However did I manage to get on in life before I learned those words!

Rogaine? Yes? No? Hmmm
